Legend has it that an apple from a tree fell on Newton's head – and thus, the theory of universal gravitation was born. But let's reimagine. Instead of an apple, an enormous, fully scented, fleshy Rose met with by sweet Lychee, deep Akigalawood and earthy patchouli for a new scented path, beyond light and gravity.
Lychee, Apple, Rose NeoAbsolute, Jasmin Absolute, Honey, Patchouli, Musks
I chose the Experimentum Crucis sample out of the numerous Etat Libre D’Orange perfumes, based solely on the fragrance notes. The floral-yet-citrusy scent (that’s what it smells like to me) on the blotter is gorgeous. On my skin, it starts out the same way, but one of the notes then becomes very dominant, and there’s something about it that doesn’t sit right with me. I don’t know if it’s the patchouli? In any case, that one mysterious dominant note prevents this from becoming a full size bottle purchase.
This smells like Indian food and roses.
I LOVED Experimentum Crucis. I pair it with the Khiels Soy & Honey Body Crème and it really helps soften the Cumin note into something sweet and fresh.
very poor performance
