WHAT IS SCENT LAYERING

Scent layering or “Fragrance cocktailing” is all the craze lately and involves combining different fragrances to create a harmonious blend that unlocks endless possibilities that are unique as you are. You can create different compositions with the scents you already own, keep your perfume hobby budget-friendly, and experiment with fun variations depending on your mood, season, and occasion.

WHICH SCENTS ARE BEST FOR LAYERING

Warm musky fragrances are the best options to layer upon as a base while floral, citrus, spicy and fresh scents are the perfect candidates for the secondary top layer.

WHICH SCENTS TO AVOID IN LAYERING

Let's be real here; you want to achieve a result that will get you compliments, so be mindful of which scents you are layering and try to avoid combining anything similar in genre, very strong on the projection (Oud, we are looking at you) or overly smoky, resinous and balsamic as it may become too “loud” and offensive for you and everyone around.

Twisted Lily Tip: Keep your skin hydrated , don't be afraid to experiment and mix things up

HOW TO LAYER SCENTS

Apply a small amount of your base fragrance and layer it with one or two complementary perfumes, or apply one scent on your wrists and another on the back of your neck.

Here is a curated selection of perfume layering recommendations for you to play with, experiment with, and ignite your imagination
