The word Thameen translates as precious, referring in part to the high quality and provenance of materials used in the fragrances and drawing the parallel between precious ingredients and fine gemstones, filling each composition with a palpable sense of opulence and modern splendor.
Thameen was born in 2013 out of Basel Binjabr's obsession with beautifully scented oils and a vision of creating elegant, original, and contemporary fragrances. Thameen fragrances are renowned for their longevity, with a significantly higher concentration of oils than the Eau de parfums on the market.
Each fragrance is named after the world's most enchanting and precious gems tied to a unique and often mysterious story. Weaving together the olfactory stories with the beautiful legends and real events is what sets this brand apart so much. “The Hope” for example is inspired by The Hope diamond, considered by many to be the most famous diamond in the world, it is also one of the world’s largest diamonds, and its replica was used in the movie Titanic. ”The Royal Sapphire” represents the blue sapphire centerpiece of Her Majesty The Queen's crown for official occasions and is displayed in the Tower of London while “Patiala” was inspired by the mysterious Patiala necklace of India that contained 2,930 diamonds, including as its centerpiece the world's seventh-largest diamond at the time, the "De Beers". The necklace disappeared from the Royal Treasury of Patiala around 1948.
