Let's talk about pear. It's one of the most deceptive notes in fragrance, easy on the nose but not so easy to capture correctly. Unlike citrus, which gives up its oil willingly, pear resists traditional extraction. For years, perfumers worked around it, layering synthetic approximations that got close but never quite captured the real thing.
A few years ago, everything changed with pear. In 2021 Firgood® technology was created which completely revolutionized the perfumery space. With electromagnetic vibrations, they are able to extract ingredient profiles from a molecular level, unveiling fragrances never before captured. It is pretty unprecedented if you ask us! Jusbox’s Wave of Freedom was built around DSM-Firmenich's Firgood® technology, capturing the note in full: fleshy, crisp, with a subtle woody and fruity quality underneath. The real thing, finally in a bottle.

A little background, pear belongs to the Rosaceae family, which is the same botanical group as roses, strawberries, apples and plums. This connection is why pear plays so naturally alongside scents like floral and fruits in a composition. Pear can read fresh and almost aquatic, or warm and fleshy depending on what surrounds it. It is the kind of note that makes a fragrance feel effortless and clean. Truly a perfect note to incorporate in your after-shower routine.

It's always fascinating doing a deep dive on a specific ingredients story because each note has a rich history. Pear is no exception, and what is so exciting about pear is that its story is still being written. With fragrance the possibilities are endless, it's pretty neat.
