Notorious for being audacious and outrageous, Etat Libre d’Orange now presents a proper cologne that achieves the perfection of simplicity. A refreshing burst of blood orange, bergamot, and orange blossom enveloped by clean musk.
Blood orange, orange blossom, bergamot, jasmine, musk, leather
First few sprays are citrus and delicious. As it sets in such a amazing smell. I have a large collection but nothing else like this.
That's where this simple but fantastic scent brings me every time I wear it. After purchasing and testing a whole array of samples from Twisted Lilly, I kept coming back to this scent -- I only decided to try it out because the name made me laugh. Realizing I would miss it when the sample ran out, I pulled the trigger on a 100ml bottle. Initial spray is an intense orange, almost too intense, but it quickly dries down to a pleasant orange blossom/jasmine green tea scent that I never get tired of smelling. I'd call it a perfect spring/summer daytime scent or something to consider when traveling because I don't believe this would come off as offensive on a plane or train. It's definitely a photorealistic scent that might not hold the depth and complexity of some fragrances but it more than makes up for it in how elegant and refined it is. The statement with "Cologne" is understatement but the quality is 100% there. Performance is decent but not insane, 6 hours on my skin. Projection depends on how much you wear but it's not a 1-spray monster. Again, this one is all about subtlety -- if you like orange blossom, jasmine and some slightly darker elements like leather and tea leaves, this one is worth a try. For me it's a complete win and I look forward to trying out some outers from Etat Libre d'Orange in the near future.
