A wild, sensual romp through all the potential (twists and shouts of) neroli. The cool heat of sweet fennel and savory rosemary pervade the top of this scent, their aromatic energy a flattering contrast by which hot, golden neroli glows all the brighter. Similarly, bitter orange (with taut, symmetrical acidity) offsets neroli’s piquant flow. Orange blossom absolute is the oft-paired dance partner of neroli; here, this sweeter, more lyrical blossom operates as the bosom from which neroli’s heart beats echo, a percussive symbol for ‘the spice of life’. Sweet geranium adds sizzle and spark to this seductively balanced orange flower heart. Benzoin adds another level of shimmering dimension to Dirty Neroli, but unlike sweet geranium, it anchors.
Juniper builds a bridge back to our aromatic beginnings, it’s bittersweet, turquoise running into the contrary cool tones of fennel and rosemary. Vetiver straddles both floral and aromatic temperate zones, its earthy smolder engineering a rich, fruity ending for this fizzing, spicy-sour-sweet scent. Dirty Neroli is neither pristine nor definitively sullied, but always dynamic and playful. For anyone who loves neroli, or a high contrast scent, Dirty Neroli delivers.
